We are not foolin’ on this April Fools Day. We have commercially made available our 4G services for rural carriers in the Midwest Region. Along with our partners, we are launching a 4G footprint in Minnesota, Montana, North Dakota, Wisconsin and Kansas, with more to come throughout the Midwest Region.
The 4G network and infrastructure builds on our existing 2G/3G network implemented exactly 4 years ago in 2009. In fact, it was just the 4 year anniversary of our first mobile call on our 3G platform - March 4, 2009.
Through the deployment of 4G, we will provide an enhanced fixed and mobile-broadband experience offering higher data speeds and faster access to a wide range of new innovative multimedia applications.
Existing and new customers are seeing the importance of having 3G and 4G networks. With 4G LTE capable smartphones, customers have the ability to talk and access the Internet at the same time, using 3G for voice and 4G for data. 4G LTE speeds will enhance the wireless experience, allowing customers to begin watching a movie in seconds and enjoy smoother video streaming with little to no buffering.
